Voice Interview

Taking Your Time

Pausing to think during a voice interview, and how the interview ends.

You can pause to think as long as you need. A voice interview never ends because you went quiet.

How the Interview Ends

  • The interviewer wraps up once it has asked all of its questions
  • You can press End Interview at any time
  • Closing the tab ends the call too

If you step away and leave the call open with no one speaking for about two minutes, the call is closed for you.

Tips

  • If you need a moment, it's fine to say "Let me think about that"
  • While you speak, your line appears in the transcript with a small "speaking" marker, and your words fill in once they're transcribed

Text interviews don't end on their own either. Take as long as you need to type your responses.
